Oops

Being the indecisive and flighty fool that I am, I have changed my mind about my presentation.

Instead of doing an educational but mind-numbingly boring presentation about the component parts of a PC, I have instead decided to present a critique of Macs, the odious, pervasively base computer of those with more money than sense. Hopefully this new topic will be more interesting and engaging than the previous plan.

My ICT presentation

I have decided that I am going to do my ICT presentation on personal computers, specifically, what makes up a computer (RAM, GPU, CPU etc). I chose this because I do not like the idea of using a tool that I have little or no knowledge about and this presentation will hopefully educate me as well as the rest of the class about the constituent parts of a computer. I will also probably take the opportunity to shaft Apple and convert everyone (including Mr Smith) to the wonderful land of Microsoft. Or then again, maybe not.

We'll see.

The presentation is 9 slides, 5 minutes and will cover the RAM, the CPU, the GPU, the MoBo, the PSU and the HDD (and SSD).

ICT notes

So, these are my notes after watching this video.

·         -New communications technology makes producer-consumer feedback feasible and allows farmers to know if secondary servicers are ripping them off - POINT

·         -Improved communication means that small business can be made by anybody and also allows international collaboration on projects

·        - Realism of simulation technology means that videogames can create and interactive, absorbing ‘universe’ for excitement-starved consumers.

·         -Concept of physical transactions on virtual environments is fascinating – POINT

·         -Videogame culture will grow as the ‘information generation’ grow up. (example of 4 year olds used to ipads)

·         -STATS:

-          57% talk more on internet

-          48% of 14-30 year olds check Facebook first thing every day

-          1 out of six couples met online

-          Kids aged 8 – 18 spend 7.5 hours a day on mobile devices

-          Mobile searches have quadrupled in the last year

-          By 2014, mobile internet will have overtaken desktop usage

-          By 2020, over 50 billion devices will be connected

·         -Reoccurring Internet Of Things idea – plant that tweets its status and needs.

·         -Idea of large-scale monitoring of products and services  - slightly worrying!
